NETWORKING COMMUNITIES
North America
- Remake: US-based NGO that carries out sustainable fashion advocacy campaigns and supports its ambassadors (everyday people like me!) in helping to spread the word. Their latest campaign is about prolonging the call to get large brands to #PayUp for orders placed before COVID. They’ve launched a petition with a number of specific demands that would lead to a cleaner, more humane fashion industry, please sign it here: https://payupfashion.com.
- Virtue+Vice Slack channel: 320+ members from all over the sustainable fashion space (and all over the world) – brand owners, industry experts, curious consumers, bloggers, etc. Ask a question, or just read the threads for lots of great info!
Europe
- Colèchi – a new creative platform based in the UK that explores the changing nature of fashion from the viewpoints of those redefining the industry. I went to their Clean Fashion series and learned a lot.
- Good Brand Guru – a network of fashion retail professionals and experts in sustainability, based in Switzerland (but does that matter anymore these days?). I’m a member and I think their webinars are great – much shorter than usual (about 40-45 minutes) but fully packed with value.
MANUFACTURING HELP
- THR3EFOLD: NYC-based platform aimed at helping entrepreneurs build a sustainable fashion brand. They offer training and support with finding ethical manufacturing.
- Fibershed Affiliate Directory: a list of regional networks of ethical producers in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
